Hypnotherapy can be used for a wide range of issues including anxiety, low mood, insomnia, confidence and self-esteem issues, and more. Pretty much, yes. Almost everybody has the ability to relax enough to enter at least a light trance. Trance is more ordinary than you might think and most of us do it regularly. It’s similar to the experience you have when daydreaming or just “zoning out.”
In a regular hypnotherapy session, we’ll start by talking about your progress and what’s been good about your week before I encourage you to visualise yourself having achieved your goal and the small changes you might make to get there. We’ll then use guided relaxation and hypnosis to consolidate the work we’ve done and help you develop that positive, forward-looking mindset.
The initial consultation is our first chance to meet one another. We’ll talk about what you want to achieve by coming for hypnotherapy and any goals you might have. I’ll then explain what’s going on in the brain when we struggle with issues like the ones you’re facing, and most, importantly, how hypnotherapy can help. This is also your chance to ask any questions you might have.
2021 hypnotherapy prices are £60 per session or £150 for a quit smoking hypnotherapy session. Discounts and special offers are available throughout the year. See my services and fees page for more details.
With solution-focused hypnotherapy, we work pretty quickly, but the exact number of sessions we’ll need all depends on your individual circumstances and the goals you want to achieve. Usually, we’ll work together over a number of weekly sessions to really make sure the big, positive changes you make are long-lasting. The exception to this is quitting smoking, which is a single, two-hour session.
Yes of course. Hypnotherapy is just as effective online as it is in person. During the COVID-19 pandemic, all of my hypnotherapy sessions currently take place online, and I’ll continue to offer this service in the future.

This depends on where you’re based. I’m happy to travel within a ten-mile radius of the WA12 postcode area, though please note that in-home visits will be charged extra and will be dependent on my availability. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I am not able to offer home visits.
I graduated from the prestigious Clifton Practice in Manchester with a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. I also completed my Hypnotherapy Practioner’s Diploma, which is a nationally recognised NCFE-accredited Level 4 diploma. I expect to receive this diploma in March-April 2021. I also hold Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in counselling skills, and am working towards my Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

Not at all. You’re thinking of stage hypnosis which is used only for entertainment and is completely different from clinical hypnotherapy. What we do is a collaborative process. I can’t make you do anything you don’t want to do and you remain in complete control the whole time.
Nope. Despite what you might have seen in films or on TV, there’s no swinging anything in front of your face, I won’t be saying things like “look into my eyes,” “you are getting very sleepy,” or “back in the room.” I won’t even need to touch you. Instead, I’ll ask you to lie back, get comfortable, and relax while I gently guide you into hypnosis.
Besides, I don’t even own a pocket watch and wouldn’t know where to get one!
