Hypnotherapy for pain helps you increase the production of your body’s natural painkillers so that you no longer need to struggle through day-to-day life.

If you’re reading this page, then you don’t need me to tell you how debilitating long-term pain can be. 

It’s not just the physical sensations of the pain itself that are a problem, it’s the way that it saps you of your energy, motivation, and positive thoughts, leaving you fed up, miserable, and even depressed. 

It can even have an impact on your day-to-day life, meaning you can no longer enjoy the things you used to do, meaning going to work seems impossible, and meaning that even socialising with friends becomes too much to handle. 

The good news is that it doesn’t always have to be this way. 

Your body is capable of producing endorphins and pentapeptides called enkephalins. These are your own natural painkillers that attach to your brain’s opioid receptors and block out the perception of pain, with the enkephalins even working to increase relief from the pain you’ve already experienced. 

It’s possible to naturally increase the production of endorphins and enkephalins yourself and, as you can imagine, the more you produce, the better you’ll start to feel. 

This is how hypnosis for chronic pain helps. We create a state of deep relaxation which helps get those natural painkillers flowing and so that you can alleviate your symptoms and start to enjoy life again.

Hypnosis for Chronic Pain: A Success Story 

Tammy, a woman in her early 40s came to see me for help with stress and anxiety.

Tammy was a cancer survivor who had received surgery. During the surgery, a mistake had been made which meant that Tammy now suffered with long-term pain in her shoulder, up along her neck, and even into her ear. 

The pain had a profoundly negative impact on her mood and wellbeing and left her unable to do certain activities. This increased her stress which, in turn, increased the intensity and longevity of her pain. 

We focused on managing and alleviating stress, going through many of the same exercises that I do with all my clients and using hypnosis to reinforce all the good work we’d done together.

The following day, Tammy sent me a message to let me know that all of the pain in her shoulder had lifted and that as well as feeling mentally and emotionally better than she had done before our session, she was also feeling much better physically too.

As the days passed between our sessions, the nagging pain would slowly start to reappear, but it would be gone again soon after our next session.

Over time, Tammy learned to use the self-hypnosis recording that I give to all my clients and combine it with some of the things she’d learned in our sessions in order to manage her own pain and increase the production of her body’s natural pain killers so that she could help and heal herself without my involvement.

Yes, of course. If you can’t make it into the practice, then I’m happy to work with you online, a process which is every bit as effective as if we were face-to-face.
